First licensed Jul. 1958 as a novice call KN9ORQ. My dad was a ham so that’s how I got interested. Dad's call was W9SVZ, he was a founding member of the club and also our local QCWA chapter 36. My current interest is FT8, I have WAS on that mode and started working on WAS FT4. I was LCARC President 1985 and VP 1986. I have been treasurer since 1995. Was awarded Ham of the Year in 1987.
I was first licensed in 1984 at Chicago FCC office with the call sign of KB9HO. I first got interested in Amateur Radio by Paul Bailey who was a friend of my dad. It was not until later that I managed to again find my interest and get my license. I have been active on 6 meters and have done some FT8. Most of the time I monitor local repeaters and DMR local repeaters. I have served as Secretary now for 5 years. I have also served as President and Vice-president in the past. Ham of the year 2017
